Zach Braff's Wish I Was Here is a movie I wish I saw in the theaters. I think I was around fourteen/fifteen when I first saw Garden State (which is a must-watch for all millennials, right?)
Even though Garden State felt a little "indie-by-numbers" at moments, it was still a film I enjoyed. I like what Braff chooses to do with the camera (ahem, the shot above) and the way he handles the narrative of his films.
You can check out the trailer below and please, please, please let me know if it's worth watching in the comments section. Thanks!
@nicolejb @VinMcCarthy Ah thanks so much guys! I was worried that, like, I was too enamored by Garden State (it was one of the first indie films I watched too) and now that I'm older and jaded I wouldn't like it because that's what one does when they get older, right? Hahaha. I'll definitely try to check it out this weekend!
Garden State was probably the frist indie film I ever watched, and I loved it. Still do. This movie feels like a natural evolution of Braff as both a writer and director. It has a strong A story, a decent B story, and a totally weird C story that feels like an unnecessary addition, but it still lends to the overall film. All in all, 8/10 recommend.
So worth watching. I loved this movie. And Zach Braff. Did you know he funding it through Kickstarter? He’s so cool.
