2012's Safety Not Guaranteed is one my favorites from that year. And you should watch it.
It's about someone who believes they can time travel, and even though that's the basis of a lot of the film's humor it ends up becoming one of the most heartwarming stories I've seen on screen. To me, it's essentially about society and trust.
Did I mention it has one of the best songs I've ever heard on its soundtrack? (listen to it below)
There are definitely moments in the movie where I felt like Kenneth (played by Mark Duplass). His performance -- along with the rest of the cast -- really resonated with me.
Check out the trailer below if you haven't seen it and let me know what you think in the comments! And if you have seen it, you too can let me know what you think. By now, you must know that I love talking about movies.
ahahahaha ugh this makes me want to just watch that movie right now. I know what I’ll be doing this evening @paulisaverage.
This movie was so weird! Haha I loved it. But you definitely have to be in an indie mood to watch it. Also Aubrey Plaza is awesome, I like her in almost everything.
@nicolejb hahahaha totally! I'll be doing the same... after I find my copy of it, wherever it may be hahaha
@nicolejb I'll be sure to check it out when I get the chance! And I don't think I really felt validated until I saw Scott Pilgrim, I am/was definitely a Young Neil hahaha
Ahahaha I’m glad you agree @paulisaverage. Most people either love or hate that movie, there’s no in-between. The To Do List might be on Netflix! I’m not sure though...
