While some of you are getting pumped for burgers and hot dogs, I am all about the shrimp during the summer. Spicy, sweet, BBQ'ed, stir fried, WHATEVER. GIMME.
Plus, shrimp is actually totally good for you! It is a solid source of protein, Vitamin B12, omega-3 fats, and zinc. So proudly pile your plate with these little guys!
Here are five killer shrimp recipes that you need to try this summer (and if you do...call me, I'll be right over!)
Super Simple Spicy Garlic Shrimp
What you need:
2 lbs. peeled, deveined shrimp
2 cloves garlic
2 T. olive oil
1/2 tsp. pepper flakes
salt and pepper to taste Instructions
Heat the oil in 2 pans.
Add pepper flakes for 30 seconds.
Add shrimp. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side.
Near the end of the cooking period for the shrimp, add garlic to the pan. Once shrimp is done, stir with garlic briefly and remove from pan.
Give yourself a high five and enjoy!
Chipotle Shrimp Jalapeño Poppers
This spicy appetizer will make your mouth burn but your tummy so, so happy! Leave out the bacon for a pescatarian friendly option :)
