To get him off this thing, I let him out in the back yard because that's what he really likes, but he decided to go back in, made me pet him. I pet him for over an hour in the couch. Have some catnip sprinkled all over his toys and on the floor, he was busy playing there so I went back on doing the puzzle. In just a couple of minutes, there he goes...
It's called "hampering" - cats appear to want to help but just want your attention on them instead of what you are doing. Other examples include sitting in the laundry basket of clean clothes when you are trying to put them up, sitting on paperwork, sitting on your laptop, pawing at your pencil\pen when you are writing.
I wish I can always just put him on my lap, but he doesn't like it. 😊
