Getting a cup of coffee with a friend is a great way to connect and catch up. And it’s been used as a connector in Ethiopian culture for many years.
In Ethiopian culture, coffee is a big deal. It’s used for a traditional coffee prayer ceremony lasting two hours long. Family, friends and relatives gather for the ceremony as a way to connect with their religion and with each other.
"We discuss ways of making peace between family members or neighbors when they fall out,” Roman (an Ethiopian stay-at-home mom) said. "It is a peacemaking kind of culture that we feel lucky to be part of.” told Anadolu Agency.
When I need to reconnect with a friend or family member coffee is my drink of choice.
