Today's Lyric of the Day comes from a now-defunct Chicago band Bound Stems. After some mild success in the mid-2000s, they split up in 2008. The song is "Wake Up, Ma and Pa are Gone."
"Well I shake
some song is sounding in my car
driving toward the country for the month"
It's so easy for me to relate to this. The country - any country with open fields (and corn, preferably) - is my favorite setting in the world, especially in the summer. And as by now you may have ventured to guess, wherever I go, my music follows me. Long car rides and the music and conversations that accompany them are the greatest. Usually, music just sounds better with the windows down in the car.
