Summer Time Sadness: Surviving Separation
It's summer, which means you're probably not seeing your best friends every single day. School's out, people are traveling, basically your social life is a mess. So how do you survive it?
To be honest, I'm not so sure myself, but I do have a few suggestions!

Have Your ONE Person

You are not going to stay connected to everyone while you're away. Have that one best friend, your sister, your roommate, etc, relay any important information. Keep your BFF up to date on everything that's going on and they can spread the news. Trying to keep up with everyone back home will drive you insane.

Send Pictures

There is something really special about being able to see what the other person is seeing. Keep them updated on what you did, what you saw, what you ate - even if it's just picture spam once a day.

Learn the Power of Souvenirs

I am not one to buy myself things on trips, but I love finding gifts for others. Shopping for cheap presents with the people you miss in mind makes the day so much more enjoyable. It's good that you don't have your best friend by your side - so you can surprise them later with this awesome thing you found! If it's long term, try to send a care package back home!

Get Occupied

There is nothing worse than sitting around your house doing nothing, wondering where your friends are. So find something to do (that isn't Netflix...)
Join a club, start jogging, learn to bake, do what you need to do to stay busy and keep your mind off of missing people.

Relax

Your friends and family will all be together again soon, so don't stress. Sure you'll miss out on the little things, but everyone will have stories to tell. Make sure yours are worth sharing - get out there and enjoy this summer!
