Once you go tostones, you'll never go back to chips. This side dish is awesome as a snack. Throw away those store-bought plantain chips, I'm going to show you an easy way to make this snack! This is made a little bit differently from the fried plantain recipe I had posted. However, the concept is sort of still the same. Since the goal is to make them into chips, we need to slice them thinner and make them in a slightly different way. These snacks are vegan and vegetarian friendly! Bueno. Let's start with the recipe.
What You'll Need:
1 large green plantain Vegetable oil 1/2 cup olive oil 6 garlic cloves (peeled, minced) 1 cup onion (finely chopped) 1/2 cup lemon juice Mojo (it comes in a bottle, usually) Salt
How To Make It:
Plantain Chips 1) Thinly slice plantain into slices. If possible use a slicer. 2) Add about 3 inches of vegetable oil in a frying pan. Medium-high heat. Fry until golden brown. Drain and pat with paper towels to remove excess oil. 3) Sprinkle with salt. Garlic Sauce 1) Pour the lemon juice, garlic and chopped onion into the bowl and stir. 2) Heat the olive oil over medium-high for 2 minutes, then when hot, pour olive oil into the bowl. 3) Mix the mojo ingredients
