Lash Extensions vs Lash Lift?
I am struggling to pick which procedure I should do this month. I've always had thin eyelashes and need a boost every now and then to get my lashes to look full and thicker. For those not aware about these procedures; Eyelash extensions involve gluing or bonding individual fake lashes to your natural ย lashes to make them look physically fuller and longer. On the other hand, a lash lift involves giving your natural eyelashes a perm procedure(kinda like one you would do on your hair) to make them appear longer and fuller. So, the lash lifts give an enhanced look to your natural lashes while the eyelash extensions can be used for a rather dramatic effect. Eyelash extentions: Pro: They give the most dramatic look to your eyes and are perfect for going out makeup. You never have to wear mascara. Con: If not properly applied by a professional, they would have to be taken out and in doing so may harm your natural lashes. Lash lift: Pro: They look absolutely natural as compared to the extensions. Because they are your lashes. Can last up to 12 weeks. Con: If your lashes are too short then you can't get lash lift as they won't come out long enough. So before choosing it is important to know what type of look you want to attain. If you want a dramatic look, go for the extensions . If you want natural look then lash lift would be more suitable. Furthermore, if you have short lashes, then you can only do lash extensions. I think I will be going with lash extensions this month.
The KPop Diet Issue
The Kpop industry is not only an industry of talent and singing, but an industry that is also hyper focused on the image and "beauty" of the idols that they "produce". Miss A's Suzy, Wonder Girls' Yubin, Wonder Girl's Hyelim, Apink's Eunji, Secret's Hyosung, F(x)'s Luna all underwent drastic weight loss transformations in order to maintain the public image of "beauty". Of course these few artists do not even start to represent the issue that is in the Kpop Industry. Twice's Jihyo was bluntly told by JYP that she had to lose weight and that was her flaw. After debuting she also received a lot of hate for her weight and promptly lost a lot shutting up her haters but also instigating complaints from fans saying that she was beautiful the way she was, which I agree with. Many artists have followed unhealthy diets, literally starving themselves in order to achieve the figure required of them by their company and by the image the kpop industry sets up for them. These examples are not limited to these artists but these are just some examples of people who have done these. Sistar's Soyou ate only one meal a day, IU ate one apple, one sweet potato and one protein shake a day, After School's UEE eats only 1000kcals a day (that's half the recommended daily calorie intake!), 2AM's Changmin ate 2 blocks of tofu and ran for 6 hours everyday, Sistar's Dasom ate only cucumbers for 3 weeks, Park Boram is probably one of the more extreme examples of the chaos the kpop industry produces in the minds of young and growing people. She participated in Super Star K2 at the age of 18 and placed in the top 8! Afterwards, though, she eventually lost 70 pounds in order to debut! While this may have taken place over the course of 4 years that is a ridiculous amount of weight to lose! She released an album last year called "Celepretty" revealing her completely changed figure. But the Kpop industry is changing, a bit too slowly, but it's changing. Korea's first plus-sized model, Vivian Geeyang Kim, shared her thoughts about not fitting the "ideal Korean image" in an interview with Koreaboo's partner OOgeeWoogee. You can read more about it here - The people represented above are only a small proportion of the people who suffer from this issue and mentality. I did not mean to exclude anyone and this is also an issue in many nations, the issue of an image that isn't possible by healthy means. Haters gonna hate but we have to show our support for our artists!!! Share the love!!!!!! KpopINT will keep you updated! Best cleansing oils & cleansing waters for sensitive skin
Hello! This is mikayla. I only used cleansing oils and waters to remove makeup - so today, I'm going to show you my favorite types of oils and waters! :) I am prone to acnes and I do have many breakouts due to sensitive skin type :'(!! My skin type is sensitive, but I would say it's combination of both oily and dry skin (lol I know my skin type is very complexed!). So people with sensitive skin type as me, follow along! 1. Bielenda Rose Oil for Sensitive Skin I actually love this product! This is one of the best cleansing oils I've ever used. Its scent is wonderful and it's oil to milk formula. It easily erases every part of your makeup. I highly recommend this item :p Oh and also, I got this at ROSS so yeah, it was cheap. I think it was around $6-7. 2. Garnier SkinActive Micellar Water (for sensitive skin) This one is also one of my favorite! This is perfect for sensitive skin types because it's "water" type. I heard from my dermatologist that using oil is not a good way for removing makeup especially for those people with sensitive skin types! It's affordable, it's every where (Ralphs, CVS, Walgreens, etc) 3. Lancome Bi-facil Non-oily cleanser I personally recommend this item (even tho this product is sorta pricy...haha). It's because I hated the greasy texture the cleansing water has. Sometimes it feels like I have oils on top of my face after removing the makeup. So! I recommend this item for a non-oily product. 4. Neutrogena oil-free eye makeup remover Well, they call this oil-free but I don't understand why.... it's literally splited in to water and oil when I purchased this item lol. But! the price is nice and it really does erase well :) So I recommend this product. It gets a bit oily, so you definitely have to cleanse once more though.
