I love video games. I love games so much that I often lament the fact that real life lacks some of the best parts of games. (Like save points. Man, I wish we had save points.)
Part of my love for games is the setting. For many games, the setting is an integral part of the experience, and it really wouldn't be the same kind of game were it to be set anywhere else. To that end, I've compiled this list of game locations that I'd like to live (and probably die a horrible, horrible death) in.

#5 Rapture - Bioshock/Bioshock 2

Okay, I know what you're thinking. "But Vin, Rapture is a derelict and violent city filled with splicers and rampaging Big Daddies!"
To that, I say stop talking to your computer screen. It's weird, and I can't actually hear you. But in respinse to your concern, I have this to say: You forget, noble reader, that Rapture was not always the dark, gloomy place that we were introduced to in Bioshock. In fact, all signs indicate that Rapture had been a thriving metropolis for some time before it succumbed to its own hubris. Imagine being able to live in a penthouse apartment where you regularly get to see whales cruising through? Sign me up for this objectivist paradise.

#4 Kanto - Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow

This entry to the list was a real no-brainer. Kanto is one of the places that I've wished existed since/ I was a kid, playing Pokemon Red for the first time.
Why would I want to live in Kanto? Pokemon, naturally, but also because it offers a variety of interesting places to settle down with my Pokemon. Who wouldn't want some beachside property just outside Fuchsia city?

#3 Skyrim - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Okay, admittedly, this one is a bit more dangerous than the others so far, but isn't that really part of the allure? The fact that you could be dragon-food at any moment, provided that there isn't a Dovahkiin around to save you?
Well, I still think ti would be awesome. The landscape is beautiful, there is a significant amount of diversity, and there are so many different career options! I could be an assassin, a thief, run an apothecary. The Sky-rim's the limit. Ha. Ha haaa. (sorry.)

#2 The Capital Wasteland - Fallout 3

All of the radiation in the world is worth it if I get to listen to the musical stylings and DJing of Three Dog. I don't think there's really anything else that needs saying.
Okay, fine. How about joining up with the Brotherhood of Steel? Huh? Or maybe you believe in democracy a little more strongly, and so the Enclave is your style. Maybe I just want to party my way to oblivion like Dukov does. In the capital wasteland, I am truly free. We are truly free.

#1 Columbia - Bioshock: Infinite

Yeah, I know. Two Bioshock entries on the same list. You could call it laziness on my part, but I can't help it. This series knows how to present an immersive, impressive, expansive setting for their games.
Really though, who wouldn't want to live in a city in the clouds? Who wouldn't want to spend their days in a idyllic, shining paradise of a city. Of course, I would rather live there in a modern-day sense (no subjugation by race, please).
@buddyesd I can garee with that, though certainly before the zombies show up. I don't think I'm man enough to handle it otherwise lol
@VinMcCarthy just remember aim for the head...and hang around expendable family and friends lol
@VinMcCarthy @shannonl5 i kinda wouldn't mind raccoon city...pre zombie apocalypse. i mean traps and secret tunnels, who wouldn't have fun with that ? :)
@shannonl5 who doesn't want free cheese?! @VinMcCarthy I didn't really consider the hair. But I would hope if we live there we just magically get cool hair...
@shannonl5 that would be amazing! also Hyrule, for endless breakable pots full of goodies
