Welp, people have asked for this for a long time, and it's actually happening: a FF7 remake has been confirmed. Square Enix confirmed it at the PlayStation E3 press conference on Monday. The trailer is above!
The good: it's a huge leap in the graphics from the original, I honestly barely recognized it. Still, this looks pre-rendered and I doubt it will end up looking that good later on. Not only that, but I have really found memories of FF7, and I will enjoy replaying it as many times as you let me.
The bad: well, we probably won't see it until 2020 or later, firstly. Second, I kind of wish they would have remade FF6 or FF9 instead. Maybe it's just me, but as much as I love FF7, the FF7 fanboys/girls of the world have really made Square Enix keep focusing on it rather than trying to revamp anything else.
Even so, they'll find something to complain about. They'll find something...same with KH3, they will complain about something...with FF7 some will want the game to be the same, while others will want it to be more "up to date."
I wouldn't mind a FVIII remake either, don't get me wrong. But definitely FFIX because of the art style of the characters in the game. Anyways, it'll be interesting to see what happens! Definitely a cool announcement from E3.
