Many K-pop idols have made appearances in K-dramas and become successful acting-dols. A lot of them have done pretty well, but a few stand out of the crowd. Here are five of my favorite acting-dols!
Park Yoo Chun (JYJ)
From Sungkyunkwan Scandal to I Miss You and the Girl Who Sees Smells, Micky Yoo Chun is the "bringer of feels and smiles". He plays the absolutely adorable nice guys and steals the show in all his dramas. He does an amazing job of being the K-drama good boy that is always there to comfort everyone. I wouldn't be surprised if he's like that in real life as well! Can't believe he'll be going off to the military soon! T.T
Kang Min Hyuk (CNBLUE)
I remember first seeing Min Hyuk as a foodie and coffee-addict in Heartstrings. He really pulled off the the goofy supporting character in that drama. The next drama I saw him in was Heirs, where he played Park Shin Hye's best friend. I think he is the kind of actor that leaves a memorable impression regardless of what character he plays. I hope to see him as a main lead one day!
Krystal Jung (f(x))
I've seen Krystal in Heirs and She's So Lovable and she was great in both roles! She portrayed the cute girlfriend role perfectly in Heirs and also the more serious role alongside Rain in She's So Lovable. I am looking forward to seeing her in more K-dramas and branching out into more versatile characters!
Lee Tae Hwan (5urprise)
For those of you who haven't heard of 5urprise...it's a 5-person K-pop group where the members began as actors then expanded into singing. Lee Tae Hwan has appeared in multiple dramas but he had standout roles in High School King and Pride and Prejudice. He may look tall and buff, but he plays the roles of cute and innocent young adults and does a great job pulling it off. His acting is great and I can wait to see him in a lead role soon!
Do Kyung Soo (EXO)
Last but not the least, we have D.O. He's just gotten started with acting with his role in It's Okay, That's Love. He was so good at his role that he hit us right in the feels and made us cry (like, throughout the entire drama!). He is also going to star in an upcoming drama with Seo In Guk and Jang Nara. I'm excited to see his character (Hopefully, it won't be as heart-breaking as It's Okay, That's Love).
I hope I haven't missed any other major idols that have been in K-dramas!
Also, I'm trying to get more conversation going in the K-Dramas community, so if you are a K-drama fan like me and would like to join in making cards and collections, please shoot me a message. I'd love to hear from you guys and collaborate on things! ^_^
