The hip-hop world was abuzz on Tuesday (June 16th) for what would have been 2Pac’s 44th birthday. Artists around the globe played homage to one of the most impactful musicians of all-time. One of the biggest artists to pay respects to Tupac was rap superstar, Kendrick Lamar.
In an interview with Vevo, K.Dot shared that if he could add a verse to any 2Pac song, it would be “Ambitionz Az a Ridah.” The track is the opening song from the double LP "All Eyez on Me," the first album Pac dropped in 1996.
I don’t know about you guys, but this news really got my wheels turning. Recently Kendrick was passed the torch by Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, making him the new king of West Coast rap. He has a boatload of resources at his disposal and the respect of many legends who worked alongside Pac. Wouldn’t it be great to hear him lay a verse to this song, or even better, carve out a new track with an unreleased Pac verse for his album?
