Emmy season is upon us, which means that TV Academy members are getting "For Your Consideration" mail. The mail consists of DVDs that networks send to those voting so that they can decide which shows should win (this sounds like an awesome job, how do I join the TV Academy??)
Today, Netflix sent its original content for Emmy consideration. While that may not sound too exciting, they did it in a brilliant way.
In an awesome marketing move, Netflix had Tituss Burgess, star of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, open the For Your Consideration mail.
In the package is more than just DVDs. There's paraphernalia from each of the shows up for Emmy consideration - an orange jumpsuit for OITNB, a horse head for the animated comedy BoJack Horseman and of course some Pinot Noir for Kimmy Schmidt.
Anyone missing Titus Andromedon after the end of Kimmy Schmidt season one will love this video. He's dramatic, ridiculous and even sings a little bit.
As if we didn't love Netflix's original content enough already.
If I were part of the TV Academy (which I should be), this would definitely persuade me to vote for Netflix content.
