Happy Monday Friends! I hope you all had a blast this weekend. The summer heat is kicking and I'm starting to feel a little lethargic. I try to stay hydrated and eat my greens but sometime that is not enough. One thing I found help which I will share with you all is include mint in my beauty recipes. Mint contain a lot of benefits that are great for summer. I love using it topically and internally. Below are some of my favorite beauty recipe to rescue the summer blues.
Cucumber Mint Sugar Scrub
2 tablespoons fresh mint leaves
2 1/2 cups sugar
4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon lime juice (if you have oily skin)
Puree cucumber and mint in a blender. In a medium bowl, combine all the ingredients together. Store the mixture in an air tight container in the fridge until until you're ready to use.
Rosemary & Mint No-Poo Cleansing Rinse
This recipe can be used as a shampoo replace. It might feel funny in the first week or two but your hair should be healthier in the long run.
2 cups water
2 sprig fresh rosemary
2 sprig fresh mint
2 tablespoon baking soda
Add the rosemary and mint into boiling water. Let it steep for 20 minutes and then strain it. After the liquid cool down, stir in baking soda. Store in an air tight container.
To use: Wet hair with warm water to loosen any dirt and residue. Pour 2-3 tablespoon (or more for long hair) of the rinse onto your hair. Massage it into your scalp for a minute to loosen any buildup. Finally rinse thoroughly.
