Move over kiddies! I was always a crayon type of girl. But this makeup hack has me rethinking my art supplies. All that is required is one box of non toxic coloring pencils and a little imagination. I rummaged through my closet and found a container filled with coloring pencils. In my haste, I skipped the cup procedure featured in the video and ran the point of a red coloring pencil under hot water for less than a minute. Worked like a charm. However, I'll let the pencil sit in a cup of hot water next time. Reflections: The coloring pencil has some real staying power. I rubbed my arm to check for smudge level, and it took some thumb strength to rub a portion of it off. As I vingle away, I am still sporting a magnificent shade of red from the coloring pencil. Could this be 8, 10 or 24 hour wear?! Oh the possibilities are, well, colorful!! Hello new eyeliner & lip liner!

Fellow vingler @aabxo shared a Cosmo link concerning the coloring pencil as eyeliner/lip liner. It's worth the read so you can make an informed decision as to whether or not you want to try it. http://www.cosmopolitan.com/style-beauty/news/a40774/you-should-stop-using-crayola-colored-pencils-as-eyeliner I also found one by Daily Mail. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-3083875/Bizarre-beauty-trend-sees-young-girls-using-COLORED-PENCILS-eyeliner-despite-Crayola-issuing-warnings-health-risks-involved.html

Both articles highlight Crayola informing the public not to use their products as makeup. Although non toxic, they were not tested or developed for such uses (which includes not being approved by the FDA for the purpose of makeup). Now, the FDA has information about eye makeup/cosmetics in general. http://www.fda.gov/Cosmetics/ProductsIngredients/Products/ucm137241.htm All eye makeup can potentially cause eye injury, bacterial infections or allergic reactions. The FDA also urges us to know makeup/cosmetic ingredients and if they are approved ingredients and colors (dyes). Whatever you decide to do, whether go all out with the coloring pencils as makeup, use it for a special occasion, avoid it all together, or stick with makeup brands, proceed with caution . *Smile*
Tried it! But instead of doing that I stuck the pencil in really hot running water for about 5-10 seconds.WORKS REALLY GOOD!
This is supper cool. I'm going to try it out!!!
hahaha we used to do this in the 5th grade.
This is rather cool! I wouldn't mind trying it out, but how safe is it?
Would it be safe to use? If yes, this might be better than regular eyeliner!
