I don't think I've completely processed the Supreme Court decision ruling same-sex marriage legal in all 50 states. It's something I've been invested in for over a decade, and the mixture of relief and joy is really overwhelming.

Thank goodness for fanart.

By wintersbxcky because we all know Steve Rogers would be right at the front of every protest. And Bucky would be right there beside him, 'til the end of the line. That's TWO generations of Captain America letting you know what's up.
If you want a closer look at Steve's shirt, this artist had the same idea. A lot of fans have headcanoned Steve Rogers as bisexual, which is probably one of my favorite things fandom has ever done. Isn't it time for that kind of positive representation?

Bisexual Steve Rogers ftw.

Artist thenizu knows Sherlock and John would make time for something important like LGBT+ rights. Like John said: "it's fine, it's all fine".
Thank Sherlockedart and Fuckyeahjohnlockfanfic for this perfect art, and the kind words that go with it:
"You are all beautiful. No matter your gender, sexuality, or lack there of, you are all brilliant and it's all fine."

Artist kumagorochan added their talents to this NOH8 Supernatural fanart. I remember there were some concerns about the nature and focus of that campaign, but isn't it awesome to seen fanartists working together like this, incorperating our favorite characters into these important social issues?

And don't forget this awesome protest sign...

Fans are such a passionate group of people, so using characters to discuss social issues can be really effective. It's a way of communicating in a way that people can understand. Sometimes political talking points and legal jargon can feel alienating or confusing. Doing projects like these instead can be a more efficient means of spreading the message. Even the actors get involved!
Surely we still have a long way to go, but this is definitely a victory worth celebrating. How many of your favorite characters do you think would be proud of how far we've come today?
@shannonl5 this is just amazing.
@senaXhirumafan I'm glad you like it! It was definitely a day worth celebrating, and what better way to do that than with Stucky? :D
