World's Highest-Paid Entertainers of 2015

Cha-Ching $

Well well well, it's that time of the year when Forbes announces the richest entertainers of the year. Each comes from a variety of countries and industries able to collect millions from their fans, sponsorships, and achievements. Forbes almost always has a major A-lister grace the cover for this type of issue. It's insane to think that a single person can earn this much money but it's normal for them. So let's see how each of these stars raked in the cash for 2015:

1. Floyd Mayweather ($300M)

I just want you to imagine what a 300 million dollar pay-day would be like. That's so much money that most people don't even know what they would do with a sum of money like that. Mayweather has officially claimed the highest annual sum of money for an athlete ever in history. Most of the money comes from his May 2nd victory against our 2nd person on this list, Manny Pacquiaco. Their fight created 4.4 million pay-per-view buys to constant media coverage from the United States to the Philippines.

2. Manny Pacquiaco ($160M)

He may have lost to Mayweather but he ended up taking home $160 million bringing him to number two on the list. He is from the Philippines so his home country brought him a huge bonus to his American pay-day. Again, he benefited from the 4.4 million pay-per-view purchases for his battle with Mayweather.

3. Katy Perry ($135M)

Shockingly, Katy Perry clocked in at number three. Most Americans would be shocked when the only people you hear about in the news are her enemy Taylor Swift or Kim Kardashian. But Katy isn't cashing in on domestic money, she's cashing in on the global market and here's how : She played 124 shows (75 abroad accumulating 27 countries). A whopping 60% of her income comes from the foreign markets and she can rub that in Taylor Swift's face.

4. One Direction ($130M)

Well it went from 5 members to 4 but they are still reaping the benefits. Similar to Perry, the world's biggest boy band played 74 dates bringing in a nice revenue. They hit every continent except for Antartica. They earned twice as much as The Rolling Stones this year allowing them to roll in their own money.

5. Howard Stern ($95M)

The radio star came in at a comfortable five on the top entertainers list. He is known to be loud, vocal, and extremely blunt. He has continuous contracts with Sirius XM bringing him fame and money since everyone loves his rude, pervy, and sailors mouth on their morning commute to work. He also was a judge on America's Got Talent to give him a bonus.

6. Garth Brooks ($90M)

He came back to the stage before retirement and has brought in over $1 million at every stop. He plays back to back shows on the same night in the same arena to double his earnings in every city. He isn't even done yet with his tour which will help him get back on this list next year thanks to his upcoming summer shows.

7. James Patterson ($89M)

He's the highest paid author in the business and no one can beat him in publishing, not even J.K. Rowling. He has churned out 16 books with the help of coauthors this year. He's sold over 300 million copies of the "Alex Cross" and "Michael Bennet" series since 1976. He's also an author for children's books with CBS signing to turn two of his books into TV Shows.

8. Robert Downey Jr. ($80M)

With roles in "Avengers: Age of Ultron" and up and coming "Captain America: Civil War", he's made bank. Avengers gave him $80 million and he demanded $40 million from Captain America. Now that his Iron Man character has been such a hit, he can't be given anything less than he wants and it puts Disney at his disposal.

9. Taylor Swift ($80M)

1989 is the catalyst that brought the pop superstar into the Top 10. Her album sold 3.6 million copies making her one of only three to earn a platinum album last year. She's currently on her 1989 World Tour bringing in thousands in every city. And now with her win against Apple, she'll be receiving a royalty pay check from Apple. This album was definitely a winner.

10. Cristiano Ronaldo ($79.5M)

He's scored more than 60 goals over the past four soccer seasons averaging a goal a game for his club Real Madrid. He's three-time and reigning FIFA best player in the world. He has a 50+ million dollar contract with bonuses until 2018. He's the world's most popular athlete and his looks have landed him major sponsorships with Nike, and his own underwear and shirt line, CR7. He's got the followers on social media to back up his money too.

Who's got two thumbs and wasn't expecting Garth Brooks to be on this list? (Hint: It's me.)
