July 4th is one of my favorite holidays — picnics, fireworks and friends, what could be better? It's also the one weekend I can wear red, white and blue together and not think twice about breaking fashion rules. It's fun to leave the rules behind for a little bit. Here are some of my favorite July 4th fashion trends. I ordered the trends from smallest American flag influence to pieces for the most hardcore July 4th fans. (If you want some inspiration on how to dress for July 4th without wearing anything with an American flag, check out this card.)
Add some more American pride to your accessories with an American flag printed backpack. A backpack is a great bag for the holiday weekend — it keeps all of your necessities in one place without getting in the way of having fun.
A loose-knit sweater with red and white stripes is a fun and warm way to enjoy the fireworks or eat a picnic under a tree.
This is where we jump to fashion for the hardcore fans of July fans. I know that these American flag socks will not be for the majority of July 4th participants (full disclosure: I have a pair). I like to wear them pushed down underneath a pair of boots or high-top sneakers.
These American flag leggings are for the really hardcore fans. I recommend pairing them with a very simple shirt and neutral shoes.
