Today, the Labor Department reported that the U.S. economy added a healthy 223,000 jobs last month. But compared to other previous months, it isn’t that many. And with only a slow growth in wages, the economy still needs work... To help out our politicians and economist, I’ve decided to come up with a list of jobs we still need more of. These are some really awesome jobs that make people happy/will make people happy. Here are a few:

1. Pixar Animator

Look how happy this guy looks! Everyone deserves to be this happy creating something awesome. The movies themselves create so much happiness. (as previously demonstrated by @danidee: The Five Stages We Go Through When We Watch Pixar Movies card). Now just let more people do that. Cool.

2. Baristas

Because I love coffee and so does the rest of the world. Also, baristas are so happy all the time. Happier Jobs, Happier Nation. Duh.

3. Optometrist (Eye Doctor)

Anyone that’s been to the doctor, knows what I’m talking about. So you get a bit of air puffed in your eye, you get to try new lenses, and then you leave the eye doctor seeing a whole new world. It’s the best thing. I think optometrists have special magic powers: the best job ever.

4. Spaceship Pilot

Like a regular pilot pilot, but he has a SPACESHIP. This one is just too cool.

5. These people.

I don’t know it’s a real job or not. But I see them around with their hoops and they are so happy. America should make it a job.
You are welcome America. Now if we can think of other jobs to add, then we would be a stronger (and happier) nation. Now that’s something worth smiling about.

Yes, ALL the coffee. It was so bad. I was constantly super hyper!
True story. I was a barista for the longest time, and it was so much fun. The hours were crazy so everyone working there was a combination of highly caffeinated and sleep-drunk, so we were always laughing and doing stupid stuff. I think one of my favorites was the time we bowled in the back room with paper cups and stale bagels. Or the time we dared each other to go 'Mm, sounds great.' after people gave us their orders. That always creeped people out.

I read an article the other day about a guy who watches all the shows on Netflix and that's HIS JOB..I don't know why it's necessary or how he got hired, but that sounds like the perfect job to me.
Barista inside jokes seems like the best inside jokes. Did you also get endless amounts of coffee? That would be sweet. @danidee
