The off-season has been a disaster for New York. No marquee free agents have made the move over to the Knicks. Time is ticking for Carmelo, and NY needs to acquire players around him to make a championship run.
The point guard position is an eyesore New York. If the Knicks want to make a run, they will need a floor general. It’s time for the Knicks to bring back Jeremy Lin.
There as so many reasons to like Lin. For starters, he’s 6’3 and very athletic. On defense, his size allows him to guard multiple backcourt positions. He has active hands and plays good team defense.
Offensively, Lin is a force. He is a great finisher and ball handler, which makes him dangerous in transition. When you slow the game down, he can kill you in the half court off the pick and roll.
Lin’s most valuable asset is primacy. New York is a tough market. It is known for eating players alive. Jeremy never seemed rattled during the “Linsanity” run. He is a very smart kid (Harvard grad) and handles the NYC press with ease.
The Knicks need someone who can control the tempo of the game and handle the rigors of NYC. Do the right thing Phil, make the call to Lin.
