Grilling doesn't have to be reserved for the slaps of meat -- veggie burgers can be cook over an open flame. And if you have a grill, why wouldn't you grill your veggie burger? There's no other cooking method that can give a burger that smoky taste. If vegetables can be grilled, why not a veggie burger?
Since I am on a chickpea kick, we'll stick to a chickpea burger.

What You'll Need:

2 cups canned chickpeas (drained)
⅓ cup bulgur (cracked wheat)
¼ cup chickpea flour (besan or garbanzo bean flour)
1 large carrot, grated
2 teaspoons all spice powder
1 teaspoons ground black pepper
3 cloves garlic (minced)
1 teaspoons cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes
Olive oil
Salt to taste

How To Make It:

1) Place the chickpeas in a large bowl and mash with a heavy ladle or potato masher. Leave some larger pieces in for some texture.
2) Add all of the other ingredients for making the burger patty. Mix well. You should have a mixture that holds together when you press it into a patty.
3) Make 6 patties. Brush patties with olive oil.
4) Grill the patties, allowing them to sear on one side before turning.

Who's inviting me to their barbeque, though?
