I Was Stalked and Filmed on a Subway? :(
Recently I had a very creepy experience on the subway. A had a very odd man sit next to me and start filming me secretly (though obviously not so secretly since I noticed) He also tried to follow me but luckily I tricked him. For more info you can check the video below. **this is not common AT ALL in Korea, it only happened to me in Seoul because that's where I live. This could, and does, happen all over the world no matter what culture~** What I hope you take from this: 1. Be aware of your surroundings at all times. If someone sits next to you (even if it seems totally normal) just take a millisecond to recognize that - don't just stay zoned in on your phone. 2. If you feel uncomfortable - get up and move. I didn't do this but I should have. I didn't need to "prove" he really was creepy, regardless of if he was or not, I have every right to just move away. 3. If someone made you feel uncomfortable, trust your gut and keep an eye on them in some way. If I hadn't noticed him earlier, he might have followed me off the train without me knowing. 4. Let someone know where you are and what was up. Even if its just texting a close friend that is dependable "hey I'm at XYZ bus stop, there was a weird guy on the bus lol" just so someone knows. In case something happens to you, it could help people find you. 5. If you see something weird happening to another girl, try to do something. When I see guys getting too close to girls on crowded trains I always try to make it seem like I'm with the girl too so he's outnumbered, or I stare them down so they know they aren't being sneaky. Be safe out there everyone, and just be alert :)
Best Part about Traveling Alone
There’s almost nothing worse than traveling the world with awkward family members or friends who make funny noises, sounds and who can ruin some of the picturesque views across the globe. Besides these reasons there are many more why traveling alone beats traveling in a pack. Opportunities are abound, agility is increased and deals are often much more available for solo travelers than groups. Without further ado, let’s get into the top four best parts of traveling alone. Freedom of Choices Not having to put up with a significant other’s, friend’s or family member’s preferences can make life so great. When you don’t have to wait on someone else to go to the bathroom, catch up to your walking pace or even to choose a food item on a menu, life can become incredibly fluid and natural. On top of this, the old adage that there are “safety in numbers” isn’t always true since solo travelers are more agile and able to be targeted less than your average pack of camera-carrying, hat-wearing tourists. If you ever get into trouble, then just yell for help. One of the best parts of solo traveling is for sure the ability to choose where you want to go and not be tied to any specific location. Meeting Other Solo Travelers Indeed there is a veritable network of solo traveller tours and adventures dedicated to helping solo travelers succeed and have fun. One of the best parts of traveling solo is the people you meet along the way and the interesting backgrounds from which they come! Most other solo travelers also have free spirits and are going to be of a like mind for the most part! When you travel alone then you get to meet the most incredible people who aren’t afraid of the typical conformity norms which most people are ruled by their entire lives. Oh, The Deals... Cruises and planes always have empty seats, and when you’re open to booking flights last minute then you’re really saving on costs. Some sites, like costcotravel.com, skyscanner.com and lastminutetravel.com, offer incredible deals as much as 80% off retail. Pay the remaining 20% using a credit card with miles and you’re really doing solo travel the right way. Planes aren’t the only deal, either. Hostels, hotels, adventures, tours, equipment rentals and more all come with deals or opportunities that could allow haggling. 7-day Southern caribbean cruise destinations, for example, can be had for an astoundingly cheap $480 round trip. Finding three or four empty bedrooms right next to each other on the last week before a cruise like you would need with a large group, however, is usually next to impossible without spending buku bucks on the swankiest rooms which most people cannot afford. Cruising alone is definitely one of the best ways to find excellent deals. All told there are many more reasons why solo traveling is better than traveling in a group, as these are merely a taste. Solo travelers have the fire in their belly that most people just are too scared to possess, and this fire can be the flame that fuels your life’s most incredible untold stories. If there’s one quote which sums up the solo traveling mindset, it’s that “everything you want is on the other side of fear.” Sure, it may not be perfect at times but overall it can be the most rewarding lifestyle that you’ve ever had the luxury of having.
9 Beautiful Places To Travel Without Leaving The States
Most people get bit by the travel bug at some point in their life. What sucks is that being a world traveler can cost a lot of money. Then you have to take time off of work, which costs you money, fly everywhere which costs you time, and deal with currency exchange which can cost you a ton! But just because you can't fly off to an unknown continent doesn't mean you can't travel! Using budgettravel.com I have chosen for you the most amazing places to visit state side. Now start planning your trip already, you aren't getting any younger! The Grand Canyon Every single person who has ever been to the Grand Canyon always says that their pictures can't even capture its beauty, which is crazy because look how beautiful that picture is! My friend just went there and said that little river flowing through the canyon is actually bigger then a football field....if that gives you any idea how HUGE it actually is. Lake Tahoe In beautiful, warm Cali Tahoe could be another world. The waters are clear, bright blue and anything we all ever crave out of a tropical retreat....except you can still drink the water! Yellow Stone National Park A park full of natural wonder, you can spend weeks just exploring the wildlife. This park is full of beautiful flowers, hot springs and wild animals to make you feel like you have just stepped into a forest untouched by humans (yet still feel safe). Also the park contains the largest active geyser in the world that erupts all the time! Redwood Forest Cali isn't just all beaches and sun bathing. The Redwood forest is one of the most magical places on earth and it will defiantly make you feel small. Just look at the difference between the full gown man and the redwood trees. Now picture that surrounding you. Jackson Hole, Wyoming Breath taking in both the winter and the summer, Jackson Holes Teton Mountain Range makes me want to move there right now! Amazing for skiing and hiking the little town lights up like Time Square in the night. Big Sur, California Driving along the coast of this mountain range gives you all the best views of the beautiful Pacific Ocean! There are places to camp, dine, hike or just stop your car and enjoy the view and the salty breeze on your face. Time Square NYC From someone who lives here, I almost forgot to add in Time Square, however it most defiantly is a sight worth seeing in your life. Especially at night when everything is lit up. Expect to always have your eyes facing towards the sky as the lights and sky scrapers attack your eyes in the best possible way! Then go check out some more of NYC, like central park and governors island. Antelope Canyon Arizona Pretty sure this picture speaks for itself. Walking though these canyons must be jaw dropping, with waterfalls and bright colors and Dr. Seuss like rocks its no surprise people put this on their bucket list! Couples have even gotten their wedding pictures taken in the canyon! The Beartooth Highway in Montana Get in touch with nature walking around these mountains! Full of wild flowers, butterflies and other amazing wildlife it is hard not to get butterflies while looking at this picture! I can't imagine what it would be like in person! Girdwood, Alaska I had to put Alaska on this list because to many people think of this jaw dropping state as unlivable. With perfect snow covered trees and a silence that can actually be heard (weird right?), winter here is almost worth the cold. And in the summer the lakes and rivers are perfect for fishing and swimming and the mostly untouched land really makes you feel like humans haven't ruined everything yet.
