This Rapper Recorded An Entire Album At The Apple Store
When there’s a will, there’s a way.
Prince Harvey was in a pretty dark place. He was ready to record his next project, but caught a bad stroke of luck. The NYC emcee lost two computers in quick succession—one to wear and tear, the second to theft.
Rather than putting his music on hold, Harvey grabbed the bull by the horns and found a way to get it done. The rapper took up residence at SoHo's sunny Apple Store, where he claims to have quietly recorded an entire album using just his voice and a demo laptop.
Harvey spent the next four months secretly recording his album at the Apple Store. "It wasn’t my plan to record this at the Apple Store," Harvey told The Daily Beast. "New York is expensive. I couldn’t just buy another laptop. I just thought, ‘I’m going to die before anyone knows I’m hot.”
Harvey's Prince Harvey At The Apple Store: SoHo—or PHATASS for short—drops July 26. Whether the album is good or not, much respect to Harvey for putting in the effort to record this project. Have you ever heard of a more creative album recording process than this?

This is pretty sweet. I dig the creativity. There's a really dope band called Gorillaz that recorded an entire album on an iPad. They were touring a hugely successful album, and the group recorded, mixed, edited, etc. the entire thing on the iPad on the tour bus. The album is called The Fall... it's good, not great when considered without the story, but once you know, it's super impressive
