Is it me or do you ALSO get that deep pendulous shift from menacing rage to self-loathing defeat when you realize that the lip stick you bought IS THE WRONG COLOR COMPLETELY?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! WTF?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Embarrassment alone prevents me from sharing with you HOW MANY NUDES I thought would look cute on my lips, but in reality make me look washed out and FUGLY!!!!!! You know when it's bad when you ask your fiance what he thinks and he either just stares at your lips like a math problem or shrugs and says, You look fine. And then I snap inside and blame Cover Girl for trying to ruin my relationship!
Luckily, Alle found herself in the same predicament and decided to find a fix for this kind of problem.
The cover was the before. This is after applying darker lip gloss and lining with a pink with "more red in it" than the lipsticks.
DARK SHADES BEFORE
DARK SHADES AFTER
If you find something too dark, simply blot it good--don't take it off completely. Use the shade as a base. Top with a slightly pigmented sheer gloss to lighten the bottom. The pigment will diffuse the bottom layer and appear as a dimensional single-color.
Moral of the story: Don't rage and throw away expensive cosmetics. Use them to your advantage to create cute signature looks that the girls eating lunch three booths away are envious of!
And don't be mad at your fiance. He just doesn't get makeup! <3 LOL
What's your best makeup trick to dealing with the wrong cosmetic? Don't keep all the secrets to yourself. :-)
