HELP! Box Braids Nightmare
For the first time ever, I decided to get box braids. After 6 weeks of rockin' the poetic justice look, I decided to unravel my hair. After 5 hours of removing my braids, and building up a scary pile of weave on my bedroom floor, I jumped in the shower to take care of my kinks and curls. I deep conditoned my hair and took a comb to my hair... NOPE AIN'T NO COMB GOING THROUGH THIS HAIR! My hair unbelievably knotted and I swear I have dreads. I tried to deep condition my hair again today and I was able to comb through the front...while snipping away the ends. Before I impatiently take a razor to my hair and go bald, please help a sista out! I have natural, thick curly/coily hair (no relaxers). To those of you with natural hair who has had braids/twists...I seriously need your help!

@alywoah 2 - 3 months. depends on hair and maintainace. i do the big curly hair (coming soon!!!) Freetress is my favorite brand for crochet.
oh i had no idea they last that long!! i might consider doing those since i wont have access to my hair stylist for a bit. @corlethaturner
most protective styles should last at least 2 months if done right. Because the whole point is to give the hair a break. And the curly hair looks natural with some of the curl patterns they have, so when yoir hair grows out a lil, it just blends.....
Oh, gotcha. Yeah, I am new to all of this hair stuff. When I got my braids, it was my first time. I only left them in for about 6 weeks. I will do a better job next time with maintaining them. @CorlethaTurner
@alywoah me too. i didnt put them in good, i didnt do well with maintaining them (wrapping my hair at night). No worries. I am about to be doing some this week (hopefully) and i will bring all the knowledge. Installation and maintaince. :-)
