Ryan Gosling's Directorial Debut is Weird as Hell
Ryan Gosling's directorial debut Lost River (which came out last April) is (probably) one of the weirdest things I've ever seen. After watching the trailer, I feel confused as to what is going on or where the movie actually takes place or if it's even a movie or if I'm going insane. That being said, Lost River looks like one of the weirdest, strangest, and most interesting movies I've yet to see.
I've watched this trailer multiple times, in fact, I'm about to watch it again because it's so hard to describe [please wait].
It's so stylistic, visually pleasing, aurally amazing, and it's completely confusing. There isn't enough in the trailer to actually understand the world the film takes place in but the trailer shows us just the right amount to let us know that there is an established world.
The reason I want to watch this film comes from my curiosity and the need to know what the film is about. Along with that, though, is the need to see how Gosling directed this movie. Some of the shots in the trailer are really intriguing and part of me wonders if that's something that will run throughout the film or just during choice moments.
Lost River is available for digital download. So you can watch it now.
