When it comes to doing your makeup, you probably think you know exactly what you're doing.
Don't get me wrong, some people do -- but you could be making simple mistakes that you aren't aware of. Don't worry you don't have lipstick on your teeth, at least not this time. Makeup is meant to be fun, but sometimes we can go a little over board and not realize the beauty faux pa's we are making along the way. If you're homegirl won't tell you, allow me to do her part and hip you to six beauty mistakes you probably don't know you're making.
Over Plucking Your Eyebrows
You may think it's easy to pluck a few stray hairs, but sometimes you can go into plucking overload and realize that you've plucked your entire eyebrow away. Save yourself the embarrassment and time -- it doesn't cost much to go to your local salon and have them hook your brows up.
Putting Foundation On Dry Skin
It's a written rule that you should keep your face moisturized, especially before applying foundation. Nobody wants a caky, flaky face full of foundation -- that's not a good look on your part. Exfoliate and moisturize -- always.
Lipstick On Teeth
As much as we try to prevent this faux pa, sometimes we just can't get away from it. Try the old finger in mouth trick or place a napkin between your lips to ensure that you aren't walking around with your teeth covered in lipstick. Talk about embarrassing.
Drawing On Eyebrows Too Dark
Drawing your eyebrows in takes both patience and a light hand. Using a heavy hand or a pencil that doesn't match your natural eyebrow color can have you looking absolutely crazy. There's an art to drawing your eyebrows and the goal is to have them look as natural as possible.
Washing Face With Non-Face Wash
Sometimes you can get so consumed with the idea of washing your face that you will use just about anything. Ladies, our faces are extremely sensitive. To prevent breakouts, make sure you're using a wash that specifically reads 'face wash'. Dish detergent and hand wash are not meant to remove your makeup.
