Where you go on your first date can make or break everything.

The first date is already extremely intimidating, but determining where you will take your date will be the deciding factor on if/when there will be a second date in the future. You want to make a good impression, but you don't want to over do it and come off as if you're trying to hard. Relax a bit. In most cases, a lot of people often choose the worst places for first dates. This is a huge opportunity to communicate in person and get to know this person on a deeper level -- make sure you choose a location that makes this possible.
Don't be that guy who focuses more so on the atmosphere than making your date happy because at the end of the day, that's the whole point -- right? If you're having a hard time choosing the perfect location for your first (and hopefully not last date) -- here are a couple spots you shouldn't take her. You can thank me later. In the meantime, here are Five Questions You Should Never Ask A Woman On A First Date.

The Night Club

Taking your date to a night club is equivalent to meeting some random chick at a night club. Sorry, but this is not Save The Last Dance and your date is not Julia Stiles. Clubs are loud and crowded -- who wants to be in that kind of atmosphere when they are obviously trying to get to know each other? If this is your idea of a perfect first date, just give up now.

Your House

Inviting your date to your house is a huge red and you'll immediately send the wrong sign. Don't be that guy. Meeting at your house just makes you look a dog and nobody wants to look a dog, especially a that can't cook. Don't try so hard. A nice restaurant will suffice.

The Movie Theatre

The fact that you're paying more attention to a huge screen opposed to your date makes absolutely no sense. Movie dates are perfectly fine, but as far as first dates go -- movies are a major no no.

Your Parent's House

Don't scare your date off before you even get a chance to get to know them. Meeting the parents is never cool as a first date option -- or even a fifth date option. If you haven't even gotten the chance to communicate with her, how awkward would it be to have her visiting your parents. Too soon I tell you, too soon.

The Bar

Yeah, you two may both enjoy a drink every now and then. So what you know what her favorite drink is. Do you know her goals, dreams and aspirations? Probably not. Drunk words are sober thoughts. Skip the bar and go somewhere where you're able to get to know each other on a sober level. Save the drinks for another date night.
Fellas, you can do so much better than this. What's your idea of the perfect first date?
To each its own. I think its just how you set up the dates that really matter. I agree with with @cindystran seeing a movie then dinner is always better because it gives you a topic of conversation.. icebreaker! A lot of times people just want to chill and be comfortable while getting to know each other.
I actually don't mind going to the theater on my first date because we can have an interesting topic to talk about before or after watching the movie. It's better than chatting in a coffee shop or restaurant's your week, what do you like...But my ideal first date is taking a cooking class together, picking strawberries or tennis at the park.
Aww picking strawberries is so cute @cindystran :)
yeah that's true! I'm all for a good ice breaker and being comfortable around each other is a huge MUST when dating @Kirsssten
isn't that adorable?! @allischaaff I would love to do that one day @cindystran
