LA is always hot. Nothing new there. But when it starts to get humid and sticky, that's when I start to get a little nuts! To make matters worse, it seems the entire US has been buried with heat, humidity and drought! What is going on?!
Ice water just isn't doing it for me. I gotta stay cool another way. Part of being and staying cool is not losing my temper.
Combine wine, simple syrup, and orange liqueur in a large pitcher.
Add the juice of one lemon into the pitcher.
Cut the other lemon into thin slices and add them to the pitcher with the other fruit.
Divide the mixture among 3-ounce popsicle forms and freeze for about 2 hours until they start to ice over.
Insert popsicle sticks and freeze for another 2 to 3 hours until solid.
The recipe says that this should yield 24 servings. But if you're like me and you eat and drink more than you should, then this should be enough to get you through a broiling weekend. If you're inviting friends over, offer them ONE, but horde the rest for yourself later.
