Sometimes media runs can lead to a lot of trouble, just ask Action Bronson. Last week the NYC native made an appearance on ESPN’s Sportsnation. In between the topic talk of sports and his album, Wu-Tang rep Ghostface Killah was referenced. During the segment, Action Bronson claimed that Ghostface Killah “isn’t rapping like this anymore.”
While many expected Ghostface to let the comment slide, the talented emcee ripped Action to shreds during a YouTube video.
Upon viewing the video above, you can see that Tony Starks showed no mercy during his public shaming of Action Bronson.
“First of all you little fat fuck,” starts Ghost. “Who gives you the right to even mention my name out your muthafuckin’ mouth….You done fucked up. Listen man, you could never fuck with my pen, my nigga. My sword, my blade, whatever you want to call it, I’m too nasty for you. This is why the fuck you look up to me, and sound like me.”
Later during the rant, Ghost reveals that the two had a phone conversation shortly after the SportsNation segment. The Wu-Tang may have let it pass, but the rapper felt disrespected after Bronson deleted the apologetic tweets after their convo.
Since Ghosts response, Action has taken responsibility for his quote and apologized on social media.
“When ur wrong ur wrong and I was wrong. I apologized for the comments. I'll always be a stand up human,” said Bronson on twitter. “Everyone says things they regret. I respect my elders and the forefathers of this art. Once again, I'm sorry.”
I think we should give Bronson a pass on this one. Action has always showed great respect to the art and his forefathers until this point. It seems as if he has learned from this for sure.
Let’s hope that next time Bronson gets caught off guard by a question, he just says “no comment.”
