Or should we say National Blackout Day?
This Friday, July 24th begins the celebration for Mexico's famous (and beloved) Tequila! If there was ever a time to let loose and make questionable decisions its Friday, because National Tequila Day duh.
To help you celebrate, and with the help of thestreet, I will list the necessary Tequila filled drinks you need to have this Friday!
Thank god this falls on a weekend.

The Texas Two-Step

1 oz Tequila
2 oz Orange Juice
1 oz Triple Sec
Shake well, served chilled or with ice.

The Pepino

1.5 oz Tequila
1/4 sliced cucumber
3/4 oz lime juice
1/2 oz pineapple juice
3 basil leaves
1/2 oz Triple Sec
Muddle the cucumber to make this refreshing tequila drink. Add ice, the rest of ingredients and some basil leaves and more cucumbers to garnish.

AMF (Adios Mother Fucker)

1/2 oz Tequila
1/2 oz Vodka
1/2 oz Rum
1/2 oz Gin
1/2 oz Blue Liqueur
2 oz Sweet and Sour Mix
2 oz Lemon Lime Soda
Mix all ingredients and top off with the splash of soda. This is a dangerous one my friend, its like the Long Island of tequila...which makes an even deadlier Long Island!

Spice Chocolate

1.5 oz Cafe Liqueur
1.5 oz Tequila
3/4 oz Dark Chocolate Liqueur
pinch of Crushed Red Pepper
Fresh Whipped Cream
Like I would leave you awesome tequila drinkers without a desert option.
Add all the ingredients except the whipped cream into a shaker with ice and then strain into a glass. Add whipped cream (the more the merrier) and a sprinkle of crushed red pepper.

Bloody Maria

2 ounces tequila
1 teaspoon horseradish
3 dashes Tabasco sauce
3 dashes Worcestershire sauce
A dash of lime juice
3 dashes celery salt
3 dashes pepperTomato juice
1 teaspoon dijon mustard
Celery stalk for garnish
For the hangover the next morning you NEED a Bloody Maria. Fill the cup with ice and pour liquids half way. Then fill the rest with tomato juice and garnish with anything from a celery stick to bacon to a whole chicken.
Check out the other insane garnishes here.

Tequila Shot

Salt, Shot, lime baby! Enjoy, and since its national tequila day...splurge on the good shots.
My favorite tequila drink is Tequila Sunrise (orange juice, tequila and grenadine) but I will definitely be trying some (or all) of these on Friday :)
bloody Maria looks amazing!!!!!!
Yasss I'm all about this. You should also add this in the Latino Food community ...drinks are welcomed there! ;)
I really like the Pepino.
