Tortillas are a great option for energy when you're on the trails. They pack light, tolerate getting smashed in your pack, and last at least 5 days if sealed properly. *Store them in a Ziploc bag with a paper towel to keep them soft and fresh.

Tortilla with Peanut Butter and Banana
-Take along a squeeze packet of peanut butter (I prefer Justin's Honey Peanut Butter squeeze packet). Slice bananas and drizzle trail mix for a little crunch.
Tortilla with tuna and cheese
-Spread mayonnaise or mustard, add a foil packet of salmon, and a slice of cheese (I use string cheese)
Tortilla with beans and cheese
-Take along some dehydrated refried beans and cheese for a delicious dinner. Bring along a packet of hot sauce for a kick of spice.
-Smear a tube of tomato paste on the tortilla, add sausage or pepperoni slices along with string cheese and eat raw or toast in a pan.
-When the tortillas start to become slightly hard, try breaking them up and frying them in some olive oil
