Why You Should Stop Watching These Kpop YouTube Lyric Channels!
I wanted to talk about this on here because it's been blowing up on YouTube the past like month and I wasn't sure if people knew about it on here. (At the very bottom I will list channels that do this and some safe channels you can watch, how to look out for these people who are ripping these artists off.) Channels such as Jaeguchi, Zaty Farhani, and Lemonring (some of the most popular Kpop Lyric Channels) are stealing money from Kpop artists. How so, you might ask, well for Jaeguchi it is slightly different than the other two. Jaeguchi is actually not an individual, it is technically a company behind the channel. There are a couple of people behind the channel who are making these videos. Most of the time the lyrics are inaccurate translations of the Korean lyrics. And here is the big kicker, they have a company behind them that is overriding the Copyright put on their videos by for example SM. For those of you that do not know about YouTube's copyright system I'll explain a bit. 1. As soon as your video is uploading it is flagged for any copyrighted material. So, when I post an NCT video, SM immediately claims it and places ADs on it. Therefore SM is making money off of my video. (In my case I do not have my channel monetized because I do not wish to make money off of these videos.) Therefore this would make my NCT video unmonetizable but otherwise fine to stay up on my channel because SM ismaking money off of it. 2. Most times a company will flag you for the music, however, in some cases they will get you for the Music Video which is a VISUAL copyright. Now this is important, a VISUAL copyright outweighs a MUSIC copyright. So, for example NCT 127's Kick It on my channel, SM claimed Kick It's Music Video instead of the song Kick It because the visual copyright is considered ABOVE the music. This Is What You Should Be Seeing in A Lyric Video's Desciption if A Kpop Artist's Company is Claiming The Video like they should be: (Note: This is taken from my Lyric Video for Jason Derulo, Lay, & NCT 127's 'Shut Up & Dance') This is what you'd see on a channel like ZATY FARHANI's: (Notice how additionally to SF9's 'Summer Breeze' there is another song claimed in the description. Meaning the artist of 'lost in your arms' is making half the revenue.) ALSO, On JAEGUCHI'S Channel I noticed This: (SM is not claiming Kick It, meaning they are not making money off of this video) BUT, I Used 12 Seconds of Kick It in One of My Videos and This Appears in my Description: (Yeah...so something has to be going on there!) Okay back to Jaeguchi, the company behind them is somehow claiming that the videos they make are VISUALLY their's so therefore it outweigh's the MUSIC's copyright therefore allowing Jaeguchi to make a profit off of their videos. So, that means that for instance if Jaeguchi made an NCT 127 Punch lyric video SM would not be making money off of it. Which is freaking ridiculous. Now onto channels such as Zaty Farhani and Lemonring. They are doing it a different way. On these two channels you may notice that after the song is done there is still about a minute of content left at the end of their videos with some half-assed song that Zaty or Lemon has made themselves. They themselves are entering their songs into the YouTube copyright system and therefore when they upload these videos YouTube claims the songs therefore making it to where they can make half the revenue that the video makes. So, a dumbed down version of this: If Zaty makes a Pentagon Dr. Bebe lyric video and Cube claims Dr. Bebe, Zaty is also claiming their minute song at the end. So, therefore Cube and Zaty are having to split what they make off the video whenever pretty much the entire video is not Zaty's content. I just find this complete bullshit because there are idols who are not getting paid, who have to work part-time jobs in order to make money and here we have "SO CALLED FANS" stealing from them. It's absolute garbage! Channels You Should Avoid if Possible: JAEGUCHI ZATY FARHANI Lemonring Jyimina PJ (READ BELOW) (Seems to have recently started doing it, check out how in their Kang Daniel 'Waves' Lyric video there are two songs claimed in the description, one being Daniel's and the other being a random ass song by an "Artist" named Yo2zing...well look what pops up whenever you type in Yo2zing into Google.) Channels That Aren't Profiting Off of Kpop Artists (as of now): KPOP. vine Yankat (No longer active but their channel still has some older lyric videos you can watch) Kimorene Watch These Videos to Learn More About What's Happening: The video below is the one that outed JAEGUCHI & ZATY FARHANI: Another Video about JAEGUCHI & ZATY FARHANI from the same YouTuber: Below Is Another YouTuber That Talks About It Too: And Another YouTuber Commenting On This: ANYWAYS THANKS FOR READING! The Longest KPop Community Intro Card of All Time!
So my lovely new friend @aabxo tagged me in a card she made for the KPop Community where we all sort of introduce ourselves and talk about our experiences with KPop. Well, first off, hello! My name is Dani and I'm from Southern California! I am actually the Fine Arts Community moderator, as I'm a Museum Studies major in college and talking about art (whether it's Spanish Baroque or Fluxus Neo-Dada or even just really cute elementary school art projects or a fun animated cartoon) is something I really love to do! (You can read my intro as an art nerd here: http://www.vingle.net/posts/602616-My-First-Installation-Art-Exhibit-Passage-at-Art-Produce-Gallery-San-Diego ) My interest in KPop actually ties into my love for the visual art world. I found out about Korean pop music when I was in art school. I was studying graphic and advertising design, and I was really heavily into the relationship between art and music. For example, when you think about Daft Punk, you don't just think about the music. There's the lights and the lasers and the robot costuming and the giant platform they play on, and I loved that about French electro. Also, in late 80s/early 90s Hip-Hop, it's all about the gold chains and the Adidas Originals and never enough boomboxes. I love the aesthetic (aka visual) cultures tied to these genres of music, so when one of my friends linked me to F(x)'s "Pinocchio (Danger)", I was seriously sold on KPop culture. I love how colorful and futuristic KPop videos are. Have you ever noticed that almost every music video seems to be shot on some sort of strange alternate dimension? I love the visual risks they take in both their videos and in their fashion. (They're not afraid of kitsch!) Plus, I think the choreography is super fun, and as a total hip-hop head, I love that every KPop group has a rapper. And they rap all the time. Even in the ballads. I mean, come on, KPop. You're crazy. Basically, my love for KPop has taken me to a lot of weird places. I started taking Korean classes, which somehow landed me a job as the only non-Korean working as a section editor and translator for the local Korean newspaper. I had my own KPop music column where I got to attend a bunch of concerts for free and meet a bunch of cool people involved in the 'Hallyu industry'. (The picture in this card was when I was able to meet B1A4 at this year's KCON!) I was a contributing author to a book about Korean culture called "Kimchi For Life". I even helped start my city's annual Korean Film Festival! (You can also read about one of the local Korean culture events I organized here: http://www.vingle.net/posts/542907-Art-Field-Trip-Hangeul-Day-at-Barnard-Asian-Pacific-Language-Academy ! It was so cute!) My favorite KPop group is definitely BIGBANG. I was a pretty casual KPop listener until I saw BIGBANG's "Bad Boy" music video for the first time and then I sold part of my soul to G-Dragon. My favorite girl group is 2NE1 too. Before I knew about KPop, I was obsessed with Diplo and went to so many Boys Noize shows that I lost count, and now Diplo and Boys Noize both work as producers for a number of BIGBANG and 2NE1 songs! I love being able to put on "Knockout" by GD&Top and turn to my EDM obsessed friends going "Guess who made this beat! Seriously! It's Diplo! Mad Decent Diplo!" Anyway, I was also told to give you guys my top five favorite KPop songs. This is going to be a toughie, but IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER, here it goes: 1. "Crayon" by G-Dragon: This is seriously as G-Dragon as G-Dragon gets, and I am obsessed with this music video, especially the scenes with the fake background. (I used to want to be a set designer for children's television shows once upon a time. Don't ask.) 2. "Bad" by Tablo: Tablo's self-titled album was the first KPop album I ever bought! I love how passionate his lyrics are and how Epik High makes really emotionally layered music. 3. "Attendance Check" by Dynamic Duo: Dynamic Duo is by far my favorite KPop unit ever, even if people don't really consider Korean hip-hop KPop. I don't care. This song is my favorite. Go away. 4. "You Look Good" by Verbal Jint featuring Black Skirts: This is the song that got me into the Korean hip-hop corner of KPop. Verbal Jint is so ridiculously talented, and I love when songs in different languages are able to convey a certain emotion to an international audience. (Plus I love the Black Skirts, a one-man Korean indie group. I'd definitely recommend checking him out.) 5. "See Through" by Primary featuring Gaeko of Dynamic Duo & Zion T: At the risk of sounding weird, I love every hand that touched this single. Dynamic Duo, the supppppper soulful Zion T, and the super amazing producer Primary, who I feel is really good at taking the world of hip-hop and neo-soul and re-imagining it for the KPop world. Plus I love the animation in this video. It reminds me of street artist So Me who does a lot of animation work for French electro label Ed Banger Records and Kanye West. Anyway, this was really long. Sorry! I hope you guys enjoy!!
《Song Connection Challenge》
I was tagged to participate in this challenge made by @katiems so without further ado, let's get this thing started. (P.S. They are numbered in order of importance to me.) RULES: 1. Pick up to 3 KPOP songs you feel a real connection with & just feel the song speaks to you! 2. Share your story!! Why do you think the song makes you feel that way & what you love about it or what it did for you! 3: Tag me, @katiems and anyone else you want to! 3. Taeyeon – I (ft. Verbal Jint)/태연 - 아이 (ft. 버벌진트) But strong girl you know you were born to fly 네가 흘린 눈물 네가 느낀 고통은 다 더 높이 날아오를 날을 위한 준비일 뿐 Butterfly Everybody’s gonna see it soon -x- But strong girl You know you were born to fly The tears that you shed Every pain that you felt To prepare for the day when you flying higher, Butterfly Everybody’s gonna see it soon This song really speaks to me because I have always felt weighted down, as if I could not succeed on my own. And the first moment I heard this song, even before I knew the English translation, it spoke to me. It was like I knew it would be uplifting and speak of my struggles. And that quote above, the beautiful words of encourage that Verbal Jint raps. That's what hit me the most. Listening to this song makes me feel like I can do anything. Like there is still light a light inside of me that rages on despite the darkness trying to consume it. It makes me see beauty in this corrupted world. And lastly, it makes me believe that maybe I can apart of that beauty. That thing that keeps the world pure. 2. ZICO - I Am You, You Are Me/지코 - 너는 나 나는 너 넌 나고 난 너야 난 너고 넌 나야 마음이 같다면 둘은 서로가 될 거야 넌 나고 난 너야 그림 너무 좋아 -x- You are me, I am you I am you, you are me If our hearts are the same Two will become each other You are me I am you We make a pretty picture Now this song. This song is kind of different from the other two songs on this list. This song doesn't describe my current feelings, but it does describe what I would want in the future. I aspire to have a love like the one mentioned in the song above. I literally could quote several parts of this song to show you just how much it means to me. However, I chose the chorus because it seemed the most fitting and to the point. This song describes a soulmate, the second half of your heart. It speaks of destiny and a love that is pure, a love that shines brighter than the sun. A love that should be treasured and adored. A love that I yearn for. The kind of love that I wish for myself in the future. 1. Rap Monster - Adrift/랩몬스터 - 표류 무엇을 위해서 살아가는지 알지 못했었지 행복을 위해서 살아간다는데 그게 대체 뭔지 -x- what are we living for we couldn’t know they say that we’re living for happiness but what is that Remember what I said earlier in this card about order of importance. Well that's where this comes in. Out of every K song I have heard, this song is the one that means the most to me. It' s a song that I feel so deeply that I don't think anyone bar a few close people could come close to understanding just how much it means to me. It has got me through some pretty rough times. I feel that every single line in this song could have been written by mean. It's deep and philosophical. And it explains things in a way I would have never thought to explain them. It puts all those mixed emotions I feel inside into words. And to think that all of that is laid out over a chill ass, thought inducing beat. It pulls you in, it makes you wonder you. It makes you explore your mind. It makes you ask the questions you wouldn't want the answers to. It makes you face the facts that you refuse to acknowledge. This song is everything and more. It's the embodiment of a person who has lost themselves in the world, who wants to figure out who they are. Honestly, I could ramble on and on about the emotions this song makes me feel but I think you guys should understand it by now so I'll leave you with three words. IT. JUST. IS. BONUS: GOT7 - MINE/갓세븐 - 한 순간도 다른 곳 바라보지마 그냥 볼 수 없어 널 놓칠 수 없어 니 옆에는 나만 남아 있어야 돼 Cuz you’re mine you’re mine you’re mine you’re mine Cuz you’re mine you’re mine you’re mine you’re mine Cuz you’re mine you’re mine you’re mine -x- Don’t look anywhere else even for a moment I can’t just watch, I can’t lose you I have to be the only one next to you Cuz you’re mineyou’re mine you’re mine you’re mineCuz you’re mineyou’re mine you’re mine you’re mineCuz you’re mineyou’re mine you’re mine This song is dedicated to my wife, @MorganElisabeth. She's one of my best friends and I've known her for about three years now. She means the world to me. I'm pretty sure we are obsessed with each other, but that's a story for another time. Not that I actually plan on telling. Anyway, she is mine and I refuse to share her. And this song has a lot of meaning to me because it explains how I feel about her and how she feels about me. We call this our song. And it will go down in history as so. Also, this song also represents our feels towards JACKBAM/BAMSON. Cause it is real and it is our #1 OTP okay. I mean they call each other wifey and hubby. PLSSSS. Where is their chill? Back to the point. Morgan is mine. I am very possessive of her. And I get jealous when people try to take her attention away from me. Cause she is mine. She's mine, she's mine, she's mine. I know it, she knows it and now you know it to. So remember that. This is a warning vinglers. The song explains it better than I ever can, lol.
Korean TV, This Is Just Getting Ridiculous
So by now we all know about Produce 101. In case you don't, though, here's a short breakdown: There have been two seasons on MBC (one for girls, one for boys) that takes 101 trainees and puts them through tests and voting until only a certain number remain and they create a new idol group (for a short period of time, then they go back to their original companies. The channel KBS is preparing to take it to the next level. The company is preparing a show currently called "The Final 99 Match" that will take performers that have had the chance to debut, but never found success. There are plenty of idol groups (unfortuately called "nugus") that have never really succeeded. Ideally, this show is where they get a chance to join a new group and get a shot at fame. That's sort of normal and understandable, but this is where it gets absolutely ridiculous. There reportedly will be 250 BOYS AND 250 GIRLS competing. 9 of each gender will survive and be placed into groups (number of groups have not been decided) I understand that idol TV shows are getting popular, much like how American Idol in the States led to The X Factor, The Voice, America's Got Talent, etc etc etc. But 500 people?! When they've already survived the harsh kpop audition and training system to debut? That must be so heartbreaking for all of them. I'd feel less bad if they were complete rookies with zero training but dang, to already debut...its like NU'EST being in Produce 101 right now. So sad for the fans :/ I wish everyone luck and hope it changes some lives for the better but I have a feeling this competition is going to be a heart ache. What do you guys think? source

SHOW ME THE MONEY 4 EPISODE 4 ENGLISH SUBS
Okay so the wonderful team of angels that have been subbing this show for us international fans have been put under review for copyright infringement with Dailymotion sooooo all of their videos are on private but the links that I previously posted should still be working. They'll soon be uploading those videos elsewhere. Whoever flagged their videos...... So minor freak out....(≧▽≦)/~┴┴ But.....it should be worked out for next week....hopefully. Fingers, eyes and toes crossed. The links for Episode 4: Part 1 Part 2 So onto my thoughts on the episode.....Now there were several issues I had with this episode....but I'll start with my explosion of happiness over the REVIVAL ROUND!! So in this round two battles took place from 4 of the eliminated rappers that we're chosen by the producers.....One VS Jooheon and BeWhy VS LIL BOIIIIIII └(^o^)┘ I apologize in advance because I'm biased. I'm pretty much Team Lil Boi. Jooheon was eliminated....and the second battle was so good....I like BeWhy.....I'm linking his MV for The Time Goes On here ←_← He has got skills....but Lil Boi wins!!!! Okay now on to the mess that ensued in the Guerilla Challenge with guest judge, Snoop Dogg....I felt it....was too much. It was entertaining to see them fighting over the mic but it all goes back to that idea that K-hiphop is novelty. It was like a 3 ring circus and integrity kinda flew out the window. I understand it's a competition.... but I felt the PDs made it impossible for the contestants to cling to a shred of dignity. And what upset me more was the ones who kinda hung back in the cut while others were fighting like dogs over a bone....were penalized for it. Seo Chul Gu.....I felt he shouldn't have been eliminated but as he said he had his mind made up from the beginning that he wasn't gonna play that game. He says what he did wasn't noble or for the advantage of any contestant in particular. He just wasn't about it. And I think that's admirable. He was disappointed but he wasn't angry. But it was obvious that several other contestants were unhappy that he was eliminated as were some of the producers. Not only with Chul Gu's elimination but the whole mission in general. The challenge, in short, was a mess and a bust at that. But.....Snoop gave some awesome feedback. And it seemed that he enjoyed himself. Snoop dug Lil Boi ♡ Now how's that for feedback? But he was also digging Microdot, Mino, Basick, which was awesome. On another note....Ja Mezz.....that cat....why does he hafta be so strange? ヘ(。□°)ヘ Now I gotta talk about Taewoon!!! He gets the M.I.P award for sure! He seemed comfortable....didn't force his flow or try to get crazy with his style. It came naturally and that's what I was waiting for from him └(^o^)┘ Now onto the producers performances.....Zico and Paloalto KILLED and I'll get to the awkward tension between Hi-Lite and San E in a bit. Now I'm AOMG biased....but there's been some beef between Jay Park and SMTM PDs regarding editing and the fact that they were shelling out of their own pocket for their performance. Supposedly things are cool between them now but Tablo's had issues with the editing of the show since his first appearance on the show. Personally ..... (´ヮ`)(´ヮ`)(´ヮ`) not hating....just that as a viewer I can't comment either way. I'm sure there are things that happen that don't get shown or things that are said that don't get heard. But it's a show. Not a documentary. LOL now speaking of editing....who knows if the tension between Hi-lite and San E is as thick as the show makes it seem....but all I'm saying is it's definitely there. Lol these two crack me up....San E definitely has his moments of acting all kinds of somehow where Hi-lite is concerned. And Zico and Paloalto choosing to perform B-Free's song.....•﹏• I could've died laughing js. But they did bring the house down. So it was expected that they'd win the vote for the best performance....as for winning contestants for their team....that was another story. They got turned down by most of their top picks ʘ‿ʘ which kind of surprised me. Tablo was taking smartass to another level this episode....he was killing me with his comments after Team Palji would get shot down ( ゜艸゜) Lol. So we'll see how YG fares with recruiting for their team next week (´ヮ`)
K-Pop Challenge: A Workout Playlist Perfect For #Gains
First off, you guys, I just spent an embarrassing amount of time photoshopping multiple Gains for this picture, so you better appreciate it. But before I was doing all that, I jogged for about 2 miles around my neighborhood and listened to all of the K-Pop songs that really get me pumped and running fast. I thought maybe it would be fun to share with you what K-Pop tracks I love listening to when I work out! (I don't know if they do this in other parts of the world, but here in the United States, we make a lot of jokes about acquiring 'gains' aka getting into shape and building muscle. Hence my weird Gain meme.) Anyway, here are some of the tracks I listen to when I'm getting my jog on. Throw these onto your own workout mix, and you'll be feeling the burn in no time! (ALSO, if you want to share what K-Pop songs you like breaking a sweat to, consider yourself tagged!) 1. "Come Here" - Masta Wu featuring Bobby & Dok2: Somewhere @PassTheSuga and @jiggzy19 are like "DUH! OF COURSE!" In the words of late 90s Jay-Z, this track is 'so necessary'. This song really gets my heart rate going, especially toward the beginning of a good cardio workout. 2. "Rainstorm" - Rainstone featuring Brian McKnight, San-E, & Verbal Jint: When I first heard this song, I thought it was completely random because when I think of Brian McKnight, I think about the slow jams at my middle school formals, but this song is so good! Plus San-E and Verbal Jint are two of my favorite Korean rappers. 3. "Good Boy" - G-Dragon and Taeyang: Yoooooooo. I'll be honest and say I absolutely hate this music video, but this song is the one of the best workout songs. I still love you, Bigbang! Even if you all let your hair get kind of weird! 4. "AEAO" - Dynamic Duo and DJ Premier: What is one of my playlists without a Dynamic Duo song? I love this song, and even though Choiza is my 'ultimate bias', everything Gaeko does between 1:30 - 3:30 is, well, dynamic. 5. "1 AM" - Taeyang: I didn't even know I liked working out to this song until I was finishing up my run today and it came on. I think it's really good for a cool-down because it's still uptempo, but much more mellow. (Thanks for all the good workout jams, Taeyang. I wonder if he works out to his own songs.) 6. "Bulldozer" - Swings: This song makes me want to crush skulls. Figuratively, of course. I don't actually want to crush people's skulls. (My favorite part is when he raps in Jeolla dialect. Beaaaaast.) 7. "A" - GOT7: For some reason, whenever my workout apps start up, this is the first song that comes on. I totally love that it does though because this is one of my 'happy dance' jams. I love starting my morning jog with this song! 8. "Ice" - Phantom: Back before "A", this was my go-to warm-up track. I think it's important to start your workout off with a song that makes you feel really happy and energized, and both this song and "A" do it for me. 9. "Crush" - 2NE1: I feel like listening to CL rap should be required for any and all workouts. I bet it makes you a billion times more efficient. Well, that's just an estimate. I don't know about a billion.
