It's not a secret that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes.

Just in case you weren't aware, photographer Carey Lynn Fruth has reminded all of us by recreating the 1999 film featuring Kevin Spacey "American Beauty" bed of roses scene (see original here) featuring women -- real woman. When I say real woman I'm referring to woman who are not photoshopped or doctored up to look like your American Barbie doll. These women range in sizes and shapes, but at the end of the day they're all beautiful.
This breathtaking project titled American Beauty goes to show that size means absolutely nothing when it comes to feeling and looking beautiful. Allowing a number to define you will eventually end up destroying you. If you are worried about what the scale says or if you're stressing over the size jeans you've recently grown out of -- these images will leave you feeling positive and hopefully you will realize that loving your body should come natural. Like Nike, 'just do it'.

“You are imperfect, permanently and inevitably flawed. And you are beautiful.” ― Amy Bloom

“There is nothing more rare, nor more beautiful, than a woman being unapologetically herself; comfortable in her perfect imperfection. To me, that is the true essence of beauty.” ― Steve Maraboli

“Women who love themselves are threatening; but men who love real women, more so.” ― Naomi Wolf

“Healthy emotions come in all sizes. Healthy minds come in all sizes. And healthy bodies come in all sizes.” ― Cheri K. Erdman

“Beauty shouldn’t be about changing yourself to achieve an ideal or be more socially acceptable. Real beauty, the interesting, truly pleasing kind, is about honoring the beauty within you and without you. It’s about knowing that someone else’s definition of pretty has no hold over you.” ― Golda Poretsky

“The human body is the best work of art.” ― Jess C. Scott

How amazing is this project? Seriously. Ladies, share your body positivity stories below.

I absolutely adore this! I'm all for body positivity! The more you live who you are nothing can bring you down. Growing up as a big girl was never easy but I realized this is my life and I have to do what's right for me!
@LaurenAntoine you go girl!!! Never let anybody put you down. I hate how society makes life so much harder for some people than others. Just know that adversity makes you stronger, and I bet now you're SO much more secure than the little stick thin models who've never had to learn to love their bodies!! You're so right - nothing can bring you down :) live it out!
These are gorgeous. Love the quotes, too. Thanks for sharing this project – we need to drown out the voices telling us that we're imperfect by filling our lives with voices who say that we are enough! And we are beautiful just the way we are.
Thanks you guys! It seriously means a lot! I feed only on positives and spit out the dirty negative! lol @jordanhamilton @allischaaff
I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SO MUCH!! body positivity is the present and future, and i seriously believe that soon body and fat shaming will be a thing of the past!
