With the movie Straight Outta Compton on the way to studios on August 14th, the cast and original members of N.W.A. has started a deep press run. One of the first big looks was gracing the cover of The Hollywood Reporter.
While many great details on the movie were discussed a bomb in regards to tour info. According to Donna Langley, the Chairman of Universal Pictures, is planning an N.W.A. reunion tour that would run through Europe with Eminem sitting in for the deceased Eazy-E.
“We don’t have anything settled yet with everyone’s schedules,” says Langley. “But we think it can create a lot of buzz.”
This is probably the best news in rap music to emerge this summer. Over the past decade, fans of N.W.A. have been clamoring for a tour. Years ago, rumors swirled that Snoop Dogg would fill in for Eazy-E, but that never came to pass. While I love the natural fit Snoop would have been via music in his vintage catalog, a tour run with Eminem would be dynamic.
The only sad news is that the tour is planned to only run through Europe. Hopefully they can find a way to place a couple select dates in the United States. I am sure fans would pay top dollar to see this in America.
