Ed Sheeran is the latest to speak up on the Nicki Minaj VMA nomination issue.

In an interview with Australia’s Daily Telegraph, Sheeran discussed the Swift-Minaj online exchange, saying, “I think everyone knows that Taylor has done nothing wrong in that situation.” He later went on to say that “[Swift] didn’t nominate herself for the awards. It’s not her fault, she just made some good videos and people think they’re good. And I think the Minaj point is a bit redundant, her point is that you have to be skinny and white to get a video of the year nomination but Beyonce’s “7/11” is in there and that is celebrating the female figure in every form.”
Watch out Sheeran, Minaj and her Barbz may be on the way!
Jesus Ed, why couldn’t you just let this one pass you by?
The hip-hop community has always had a lot of love for Ed Sheeran. His rap covers are solid crossover efforts. It was only a matter of time before Sheeran cranked out some original songs with rap artists, but these remarks will slow down the progress for sure.
Pretty bad timing as well, as Swift and Nicki just settled their issues on twitter last night.

I have a feeling this won’t be the last we hear of the Sheeran’s comment on the VMA issue.

Gosh yeah it must be tiring to have to hear over and over again that the music industry celebrates only a very specific group of people. Gosh. What a pain to have to listen to that over and over again.
