According to a Vice interview with Ahmed Best, the actor most famously known for voicing the 'Star Wars' character Jar Jar Binks in 'Episode 1: The Phantom Menace', Michael Jackson was originally in negotiations to play the role.
Apparently, Michael, who had already been long-time friends with George Lucas, only wanted to play Jar Jar if he got to wear make-up and prosthetics similar to how he had in 'Thriller'. George declined because he wanted to create Jar Jar with CGI.
"My guess is ultimately Michael Jackson would have been bigger than the movie," Ahmed added, citing Michael's obvious superstar status. "And I don't think he wanted that."
And the rest, they say, is history.
But seriously though, could you imagine the Prince of Pop playing Naboo's least favorite space camel? There probably would've been WAY more dancing.
