Who would’ve thought a routine performance tour in Europe for could be so rough on Snoop Dogg?
After a successful concert in Sweden this weekend, Uncle Snoop was stopped by police. According to the Guardian, “Police carrying out roadside controls noticed that Snoop Dogg [whose car was pulled over] seemed to be under the influence of narcotics. He was arrested and taken to the police station,” said Daniel Nilsson, a police spokesman for the central Uppsala region.
While in the police station, Snoop went to Instagram to share his story. “They in the police station doing a report on me, cuz,” he said, shaking his head in the brief clip. “Racial profiling, [they] came and snatched me out my car and brought me down here. I’m in Sweden right now. It’s all good, though. Sorry about that peoples. I will never be back to your country. It’s been real.”
After the urine test came back clean, Snoop was allowed to leave the station.
I don’t consider this a case of racial profiling, but it could be celebrity profiling. Many consider Snoop the face of cannabis in music. Lets hope this is the last time this happens to the legend and the department issue an apology to the musician.
