There’s a new trend in the morning cup of coffee, and instead of adding the regular cream and sugar, it’s adding butter to your coffee. Grass-fed, unsalted butter.
This isn’t a new trend however. For many generations, Tibetans have used yak butter in their tea. But it’s getting a little more
And it looks like the trend is here to stay. Bulletproof, a coffee company made famous by putting grass-fed butte in coffee just raised $9 million in venture funding.

It truly is gaining some recognition, and here’s why:

1. It’s creamier

Imagine the creamiest latte you ever had. Yeah, that’s pretty much what adding butter to your coffee would do.

2. It sets up a routine for your body to burn fat all day.

Similar to how breakfast jump-starts your body burning calories, having a bit of butter jump-starts fat-burning. Try it with coconut butter and it’s a very similar effect with a more natural approach.

3. High in Omega-3 and Omega-6

Grass-fed butter has the best ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids. Anyone on the paleo diet? Try adding in butter. Because the coffee is high in protein and animal fat, it’s a perfect addition to your diet.

4. It’s like eating breakfast

I’m not saying this is a responsible replacement for breakfast, but it is a good addition to your routine if you already drink coffee. For those of you that like to skip breakfast and only drink coffee...try adding butter to your coffee. It gives your body essential fats and calories that will help your body wake up.
What do you think? Weird coffee trend or interesting way to mix-up your cup of coffee?
Maybe your coffee could be better with butter. Pretty sure Paula Deen would approve.
Same here @alywoah! If there’s so much hype, it might be worth trying out!
I have heard of people making this coffee, who swear on it -- giving them energy all day. I am definitely curious to try it.
