Have you ever wondered what the inside of your mind might look like? I don't mean, like, your squishy brain or your skull. I mean, like, uh, I guess what I'm asking is: what do your thoughts look like?
I know, I mean you think of something then you "see" it or whatever. I don't know science. I mean, when you think, how do you think, you know? Like what words do you use? Maybe this is just me or maybe I'm crazy, I don't know, but I kind of narrate my thoughts. Like I'm talking to someone, you know?
No, not like that. Have you seen that Tom Hardy movie, uh, Bronson?
No? I think you should watch it, man. But anyway, the thing about that movie is that it really gets or, um, understands how I frame my thoughts, you know? So like, throughout the movie he's on a stage and, sort of, like narrating the movie and telling the story to the people in the theater, it's really cool. It's brilliant actually. You're looking it up now? Yeah, Refn, he directed this one.
I know you like him, dude, don't worry -- it's kind of why I mentioned it in the first place. But to get back on topic, you ever think about that shit? I mean, not like how you, yourself perceive thoughts but how other people do. I mean, that's how I do it. I'm constantly thinking I'm talking to an audience or a camera or narrating a movie, you know? I'm not sure if that makes me crazy, does that make me crazy?
[laughs] Fuck you. Seriously, fuck -- hold on, lighting a smoke -- you. Fuck you, for real. If I'm so crazy, how do you think? What are your [takes drag] thoughts?
I like to think there's a performance to everything, you know? What'd that asshole say? Shakespeare, yeah that asshole, he said something about the world being a stage. Right? And that's kind of what it is, you know? It's a stage inside and outside of my head.
Think about it this way, right? You're constantly aware of the way you look, the way you act, and the way you want to be perceived, you know? Oh, shut the fuck up. You care more than anyone I know. Shut up. Listen. Shut up. Listen. Why isn't the same thing applied to the human mind, you know? You ever think some dumb thought and you immediately judge yourself of thinking that? Like another part of your brain became a different person and was like, "Hey, that's a little, uh, fucked up". Then you change the way you think because your own thoughts are judging you, you know? Isn't that shit so fucking weird?
I mean, I'm constantly thinking about thinking and how other people are thinking. Fuck, I just said that goddamn word way too much. I just [pauses], ugh, think that there's so much about the mind that people won't ever really know. Maybe they're afraid of it? I don't know. Who cares? Listen, I have to go, there's, uh, something going on at Clem's tonight.
Talk soon, yeah? Oh, and watch that fucking movie. It'll make you a better person.
