No Man's Sky is an upcoming title that has the industry buzzing with optimistic anticipation. I've written about it before here myself. The epic, randomized universe-exploring title promises to be massive and broad, with no two player experiences exactly alike. It just looks so god-damned awesome.
So no wonder that people have already bandied around the concept, or the supposition, I should say, that No Man's Sky would look super cool on a VR headset. Shit, even the devs themselves seem to entertain the notion.
Game creator Sean Murray recently sat down with Edge Magazine and had this carefully constructed startement about the possibility:
"I don't know what I'm allowed to say. It's something we're thinking about. Morpheus, Oculus... There's nothing more cool and sci-fi than VR and a big procedural universe. I think that, for the people who want to just explore, and even for the space combat and things like that, it would be a good fit. Let's put it that way." (via)
So, nothing confirmed, but even the prospect of seeing the universe as envisioned in No Man's Sky through a VR lens is exciting. We do know that the devs have Oculus Rift and Project Morpheus dev kits.
With or without, though, Players will be excited to pick up this title when it finally launches.
Which we still don't have a date for.
