Bruges (Dutch: Brugge) is a town in Flanders, the northern part of Belgium. Relatively cosmopolitan and bourgeois given its compact size, it is one of the best preserved pre-motorised cities in Europe and offers the kind of charms rarely available elsewhere. I've been to Belgium 10 times at least, but visited Bruges only once, and now that I think about it, I don't know why, since Bruges is a postcard perfect stop on any tour of Europe. Along with a few other canal-based northern cities, such as Amsterdam and Stockholm, it is sometimes referred to as The Venice of the North. Bruges has a significant economic importance thanks to its port and was once the chief commercial city in the world.

isn't it? @delo2ty
SO COOL @dalo2ty! Did you just take a trip to Belgium or did you travel around? I like places like this because it seems it isn’t as well known to tourists, but it still is unique and fun to experience.
well, I think. Bruges is like right after Brussels on the tourist list, but still enjoyable.@nicolejb
