Learning how to cook yellow rice truly takes patience, skill, and love. I have been fortunate to have had @karencorchado's perfect yellow rice. I have never mastered how to cook yellow rice, but I have mastered eating her yellow rice in impressively large quantities. ;)
She so amazing, she wrote up a recipe for all of us to use.
Ready to to make the best yellow rice you'll ever make in your life?
What You'll Need:
3 tablespoons of oil
3-4 tablespoons of sofrito
3-4 tablespoons of tomato sauce
1/2 can of gandules
1 pack of sazon
4 cups medium grain rice Salt to taste
How To Make It:
1) Wash rice.
2) Boil a small pot of water.
3) In another pot, heat to medium heat. Add oil, sofrito, tomato sauce, sazon, and gandules. Mix. Add rice. Mix again.
4) Add enough of your boiled water to your rice so that it just covers it. To make sure it's accurate, put a spoon in the middle of the rice. If it tilts over it has too much water. The spoon should be able to stand up.
5) Add salt to taste.
6) Cook for about 45-60 minutes (depending on stove).
