Meek Mill started this war with Drake, but doesn’t seem prepared to do whatever it takes to win it. For those under a rock, Meek Mill took to twitter last week to share his thoughts on Drake. He accused the rapper of using a ghostwriter on the feature verse on his album. Meek also said that Drake couldn't be the best lyricist in the world as a result of the ghostwriter.
Drake responded swiftly to the accusations, dropping a record called “Charged Up” on his OVO Radio Show Saturday afternoon. When Drake caught wind of Meek’s concert appearance in his hometown of Toronto, the OVO rep relinquished another track called “Back To Back.”
This one may put Meek Mill out of the game.
Drake was relentless on this freestyle, attacking Meek Mill’s rapping abilty, his status in his relationship with Nicki Minaj and his career. Below is one of strong verses on the track
“This for y’all that think that I don’t write enough/They just mad ’cause I got the Midas touch/You love her, then you gotta give the world to her/Is that a world tour or your girl’s tour?/I know that you gotta be a thug for her/This ain’t what she meant when she told you to open up more/Yeah, trigger fingers turn to Twitter fingers/Yeah, you getting bodied by a singing n—a/I’m not the type of n—a that’ll type to n—as/And shout to all my boss bitches wifin’ n—as/Make sure you hit him with the pre-nup/Damn, tell that man to ease up/I did another one, I did another one/You still ain’t did shit about the other one”
After listening to this freestyle, two words came to mind: Brand diminishing.
Meek has sat on the sidelines entirely too long for this one. First he gets called out on “Charged Up,” now he gets embarrassed on “Back To Back.” These are tough times to be a Meek Mill fan. Honestly, do you think Meek stands a chance in this battle at this point?
Someone better get on their knees and pray for Meek, this beef is killing the reputation of the street legend.
