Excuse me, my heart is melting. The Parks and Rec star has a new show coming to Netflix called Master of None, and it'll follow the life of a 30-year-old actor trying to make it in NYC. Of course, most people can't get through life without a little help from their parents, so Aziz decided to forgo finding actors to play his parents and instead, just hired the real thing.
When asked why he cast his own parents, who don't have much of an acting background, he responded with typical Aziz adorableness:
"There are not a ton of old Indian guys that are actors, and I feel my dad is uniquely funny."
"None of the actresses felt like my real mom. So I said, 'if you love me, you'll do this.'"
Obviously his parents are awesome because here they are looking super chill with the coolest couple on earth!!
This show would be good even without his parents because it's created by Aziz and produced by Mike Schur who has worked with both Parks and Rec and The Office. I think the natural on-screen chemistry between Aziz and his parents will just make it that much better.
Master of None will be on Netflix November 6.
