David Banner Is Suing Lil Wayne
Seven years is a long time to wait for album royalties to be distributed. In 2008, David Banner produced "La La” and “Pussy Monster,” both of which appeared on Wayne’s massive 2008 album "Tha Carter III."
Despite the success of the album, Banner claims he hasn’t been compensated. The talented producer’s patience has ran it’s course on this issue, and has decided to take Lil Wayne to court.
According to TMZ, the Mississippi rapper and producer is seeking royalties from his work on “La La” and “Pussy Monster.” Banner says that in 2012, Young Money told him he was owed $138,787 for the two songs. Since then, the label has been quiet about his payment. Banner claims he’s also owed $15,000 for “Streets Is Watching,” the Wayne, Jae Millz and Gudda Gudda collaboration from “We Are Young Money.”
Banner has a reputation as one of the most respected producers in rap at the moment. I’m sure Lil Wayne and the label have the cash, so what’s the hold up? It may be best to pay this Banner for his services and move on.
