Hey guys! So I've been planning on doing some more reading about hiking and just generally being outdoors lately since I got some gift cards to spend on books, and was looking up some books that look interesting.
Here's what I've got so far:
Awol on the Appalachian Trail by David Miller
I've heard really good things about this book, and enjoyed David's AT guide before so I have to read it!
Twelve by Twelve by Bill Powers
Subtitle: A One-Room Cabin Off the Grid and Beyond the American Dream
Sounds good just from the title, but I also read that its a great read so I'm interested. He basically is trying to see what it's like to live without everything we have, finding something closer to nature and the natural.
First Wilderness and One Man Wilderness by Sam Keith
Both of these follow a guy who moved to Alaska after getting out of military life and talks about his experiences with nature, what he finds there, what he learns, etc. Heard good things from my cousin so I'm borrowing this soon.
Any other suggestions? I've heard "the big names" like Wild and A Walk in the Woods so I am looking for some other good suggestions!
