As the creative director and president of J. Crew, Jenna Lyons has redefined Geek Chic and made it something we all wanted to embody. She masters a mix of masculine and feminine styles and results in a look that's clean, cool, with just a touch of funk from mixing subtle prints and adding embellishments.
Sequins on anything and everything.
Lyons sticks to straight-cut and masculine silhouettes, but adds a touch of feminine flair with embellishments like sequins, feathers, and statement jewelry. She will wear anything sequined, from tops to skirts to cardigans and everything in between, and proves in doing so that sequins don't have to look too fussy or girly.
Printed pants.
Lyons is a big fan of the trouser and button-down blouse combo over a typical dress, and makes things fun with colorful printed pants. From polka dots to pretty florals. she seems to have a wardrobe full of pants in cute prints. Can we get those at J. Crew, Jenna?
Shirts unbuttoned for a plunging neckline.
Jenna creates unintentional plunging necklines in the preppiest (but coolest) way possible, with blouses unbuttoned waaay down to show some skin and layered necklaces. This is such a cool contrast to a collar buttoned all the way up, giving a kind of deconstructed masculinity.
Classic stripes.
Lyons is all about mixing bolder pieces and patterns with classic staples. Amongst these are classic stripes in black or navy and white, worn the All-American way (which is so J. Crew!). From classic tees to sweaters and striped accessories, basic stripes are practically a neutral in Lyons' world.

And, of course, it wouldn't be the Jenna Lyons look without dark-rimmed glasses and hair pulled tightly back!

Really it's just Jenna's world, and we're all living in it.
Where can I get that sequined jacket???? I would love to have that on hand to dress up jeans!
@lisafaye I don't know where her exact jacket is from but I found a similar style on ASOS if you search "sequin kimono"!
