Her 20's: Rowling had relationship and money problems. She ended up unemployed and divorced, having to support her kids with welfare checks.
Her Legacy: Hello!? Harry Potter, the biggest cultural phenomenon of the 21st century that garnered her a net worth of 1 Billion dollars, and a brand worth of 15 Billion. That's a long way from food stamps.

His 20's: Abe was defeated by a zillion votes in the election for the Illinois General Assembly at 25. His wife Anne died when he was 26 and he basically wanted to give up.
